|Product type||Water Pot with Detachable Handle|
DescriptionThis handcrafted iron water pot is modeled after the antique pots used over 100 years ago in India. These functioned as a carrying bucket to fetch well and river water. Its wide, detachable handle was used with a manual rope pulley system to lower, collect, and pull up fresh water from the well or river. Once the water gatherer returned home, these pots were secured to a bar over a fire to boil the water for cooking and tea. The rounded shape of this antique pot was useful when tipping the pot to pour water into bowls and cups.
