Lemon, Garlic & Rosemary Chicken Wings

Outdoor Oven Recipe (cooking times based on the Ooni 3 Outdoor Oven)

Lemon, garlic & rosemary chicken wing recipe

Prepared in an Ooni 3 Outdoor Oven.

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings, split with wing tips removed
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 head of garlic
  • Rosemary
  • Salt and pepper

Steps

  1. Place a 10 inch cast iron skillet in your outdoor oven and fire it up for 7-10 minutes to bring both to temperature
  2. While they are warming up, place your wings on tin foil
  3. Whisk together equal parts lemon juice and olive oil and brush generously onto the wings
  4. Peel garlic and set aside
  5. Carefully pull out your skillet (tip: using metal tongs with a wooden plank or cutting board work well for safe handling)
  6. Disperse the garlic cloves on the skillet and then add your wings. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and rosemary
  7. Return skillet to the oven for 2 minutes
  8. Turn your wings and sprinkle one more time with salt, pepper, and rosemary
  9. Return the skillet to the oven, checking and turning every 2 minutes until the wings have an even sear and char
  10. It is always recommended to check the internal temperature of poultry for doneness with a meat thermometer (165 degrees)
