About Proposition 65
Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was approved by California voters in November 1986. The law requires businesses to provide clear warnings about significant exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
These chemicals may be present in consumer products, workplaces, homes, or released into the environment. By requiring warnings, Proposition 65 helps Californians make informed decisions about potential exposures.
In addition, Proposition 65 prohibits California businesses from knowingly discharging significant amounts of listed chemicals into sources of drinking water. The state is also required to maintain and update—at least annually—a list of chemicals identified as harmful. Since first published in 1987, the list has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals.
Riverbend Home Compliance
Riverbend Home complies with Proposition 65 by providing information regarding products on our website that may expose individuals to listed chemicals. Proposition 65 is a "right-to-know" law — it does not ban products but ensures consumers are aware of potential risks.
